Scott Harris

I met Scott in 1992 when he came down from Hot Springs, Arkansas to become part of the company I was forming with World Gym / Federal Billing Company owners.  Scott was going to be our salesperson.   Later on my next company, my partner David and I hired him to be our salesperson.

Scott and I ended up spending a lot of time together writing brochures, sales advertisements and help files for the software system we were marketing.  I traveled up to Hot Springs quite often and we went to one sales convention together in Boston, Massachusetts.  Scott is 12 years older than me, 3/4 apache and did two tours in Vietnam as an assassin / sniper.  In college he was also a golden glove boxer.

I have known some very gifted salespeople but Scott is the best I've seen.  He also one of the most self centered, manipulative person I've ever known.  He needed his "space" or alone time.   While he was very personable and people liked him, you could see a wall you couldn't get past.

Over time we became good friends.  He told me that I was one of few people in his life that he could trust and for whom he didn't see any guile.  I believe I got past the wall he had put up to keep people from getting to close to who he was.  Even after my second business did not work out, Scott and I remained good friend.  Scott brought his wife, Patty and daughter, Taylor down for a week and they stayed at our house.  We had a lot of fun together.
