H&R Block Tax Return

When I was 24, I had to do my first Tax Return.   Not knowing how to do one, I went to H&R Block.  As you may know, H&R Block hires a lot of retired people to work at their stores.  The rep. that helped me was a very nice older man.

During the meeting, a rough cut man around 30 years old came into the store.  He proceeded to walk up to us and asked for his tax return.  The H&R Block representative began to tell him that he had finished it but there was one extra Form which amounted to an additional fee.

As they began to talk more about it, this customer began to get mad and raise his voice at the rep.  Around us were other H&R Block reps all sitting in the open area with customers also.  Everyone in the room with the exception of me and this customer were a lot older.  All eyes were on this customer.

I listened for a few moments, thinking surely this guy would calm down but he didn't.  The H&R Block representative started to look very nervous.  I then decided I couldn't listen to it anymore.

I stood up and got the customer's attention.  I told him to show some respect, and if he couldn't, then he better leave or I would make him leave.  The guy looked at me and said that he would like to have me try.  I then made a move toward him  but before I got two steps, he then ran to the door and left (without his Tax Returns).

I sat back down, shaking a little bit and everyone in the place clapped.  The H&R Block rep. said he was glad that I stood up for him but it was a dangerous thing to do.  I knew he was right.  Someone there called the police on the incident but they never got there before I left.  I remember hoping they would because I thought I might meet up again with the guy outside, which I didn't.
