We flew out of Houston before lunch time to land at Miami International Airport a few hours later.  After picking up a rent-car, we took a leisure drive down to South Beach where we stayed in one of the updated Alexander Hotel's two bedroom and full kitchen condominiums where we had an excellent view of the ocean and marquee brick boardwalk.  Every morning, we made breakfast and then walked the boardwalk along with doing some swimming followed by exploring some great places in Miami.

The second part of our trip was driving across the Everglades to the absolutely beautiful city of Naples where we stayed in the stunning Naples Grande Beach Resort.  Our rooms overlooked the beautiful three pools, courtyard, spa area followed by the ocean inlet containing lush vegetation leading to the ocean.  While we were there, we met up with good friends Holger and Melanie Piprek who moved from Houston to Naples one year ago.
