SOME ITEMS FROM PAST GENERATIONS OF MONTZ:

IN SOME OF THE WORKS DISCOVERED BY THIS AUTHOR, I AM VERY thankful for the fact that had it not been for J. Hanno Deiler's Work and the book written by Donald Millet celebrating St. Peter's Diamond Jubilee in Reserve, much of the information contained would not have been available. These books can be found in the New Orleans Public Library.

A SMALL WRITE-UP ABOUT JACQUES NUMA MONTZ (1846-1922) IS given in the work by Millet. He indicates that at the age of 17, Numa Montz the third son of Silvain Montz and Emilie Anglad, marched to war with the Confederate comrades. After this he operated a cooperage shop in Reserve. He married Alice Cambre in 1870. In 1895, he moved to LaPlace where he operated a farm with his two sons, William and George. In 1908 his wife died.

JACQUES'S CHILDREN WERE:
Alice, wife of Elias Madere. Two children-Glenn,Daniel.
Octave, married to Corinne Perilloux. 6 children-Eliska,
Clifford, France, Leona, Alien, and Roy.
Emilie, wife of George Lambert, one son, George.
George, married to late Albertine Allemands.
Armand, married to late Aline Perilloux. Children are Armand Jr., Nemours, Alice May.
Estelle, a sister, M. Genevieve of Dominican Order.
Blanche and William, unmarried at that time.
Lucree, died in 1895, age seven months,
Allan, died at age eight, 1898.
Marie, died 1926.
Corinne, died in 1931.


JACQUES'S GRANDCHILDREN WERE:
Glenn Madere, married to Noelie Malacher, children Wesley, Patricia.
Daniel Madere, married to Inez Hart, children Inez, Rosalyn, and Danielle.
Eliska, now Mrs. Clarence Madere, children Clarence Jr., and Shirley.
Clifford, married to Mae Vicknair, children Warren, and Doris Mae (deceased)
France, now Mrs. Edward Jacob, son Ronald.
Leona, Mrs. Percy Hebert.
Roy, married to Camille Bourgeois.
George Lambert, married to Virginia Teal.
